Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 'Eye Candy'

The Sea-Dweller definitely wasn’t made for summer holidays.

It was built for hardcore saturation diving, for depths where the pressure is strong enough to bend steel. With 1,220m of water resistance, it's one of the few watches that genuinely has the engineering to back up the numbers.

This week, though? Its biggest challenge was surviving seafood lunches, beach swims, cold beers, and the occasional wrist shot.

Honestly, it wasn’t my first pick for this trip. It’s tough to beat the clean, simple look of a Panerai Luminor when you’re on holiday.

But the Sea-Dweller ended up being a great companion. It’s understated enough to fly under the radar despite sharing the most copied watch silhouette ever. Yet it's rare enough that only the people who really know watches recognize what it is.

Here are some sommer shots along with older shots in more colder enviroment

Looks great.

Funny you’ve posted this as out of nowhere, over the last couple of days, I’ve decided I need a 16600. Something about the slight larger bezel in proportion to the dial makes it looks better to me than a sub.

Jeez Nono, with shots like that you could have a Swatch on your wrist and I’d be salivating.

And it's a lot more rare then the Sub. I say - go for it, a fanstastic sports watch for the money.

Beautiful watch - and photos. Thanks.
Thank you
