Earlier this week I saw this Sub for sale local to well 40 miles away.

I decided to contact the seller and asked if I could view the watch to make sure it was genuine.

I was offered it at a very very cheap price

Aftermarket parts horrid blinged bracelet

Did a quick check on the watch registry came back all clear confirmed it as a D serial so around 2005/2006

1st job was to use 1000 git sand paper to tone down the bracelet the a 3m pad

Ordered the parts on Wednesday dial and Bezel and they came today.

Happy with the result so far just needs the case and bracelet redoing properly and a service

Looks good. Hopefully I can pick up these skills one day. The other day I was only changing the bracelet on my Explorer and managed to scratch the case back twice.🤦

Wow! That pimped up watch had a hard life, looks so much better now! Great job.

Btw - how can you get your hands on genuine Rolex parts?

All the best

Great catch!! I would be inclined to do the same if I came across one like that on the cheap. I am not a stickler for 100% original as long as the replacement parts are factory correct replacement parts for the watch. Ebay can be a goldmine or a minefield for vintage parts like these, and almost anything is available...if you know what you are looking for.

can you put us more pictures. Back of the watch, movement, references between the horns, strap etc?

Whats the story with it? Did you ask why did it have the blue dial and bezel??

I think a lot of people forget that up until the last decade, subs weren’t very expensive nor newer ones collectible. It wasn’t uncommon (and still isnt) for jewelers to have aftermarket dials and bezels with different colors and jewels- a nice way to upcharge the sale and suit a customer that wants a bit of flash.
I think many of the factory dials and bezels we see pop up on eBay are from jewelers parts bins taken from watches exactly like this that were tarted up
