Hi all, Up for sale today is my Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref 1003 in stainless steel with a brushed blue dial. I've owned a fair number of midsize Rolex references from the 1960s/70s/80s and this is one of the rarest dial variations - a beautiful blue dial with a horizontal brushed finish. The dial is also quite dynamic, changing from a dark blue to a medium blue-purple depending on ambient lighting. The lume on the dial and hands is original and has aged to a pleasant, creamy color. The engine turned bezel is another nice touch and adds some presence on the wrist. The watch comes on a later but period correct Rolex C+I stretch rivet bracelet that will fit up to a 7.75" wrist. Condition: This example is in good and authentic condition. Blue dials from this era typically see plenty of deterioration but this one is almost perfect barring some deterioration on the bottom edge, and that too is pretty much hidden when on the wrist. The caliber 1560 recently received a clean, oil and regulation and runs smoothly and keeps time to +10 seconds/day with strong amplitude. The bracelet is tight without much stretch. Ref and serial # are clearly legible on the case. Additional Information: Size: 34.1mm without crown, 19mm lug width Serial: 2.02M Year: 1969 Caliber: Automatic, cal 1560 Box/papers: No/No Bracelet: Period correct rivet stretch oyster bracelet fits 7.75" wrist I’m asking $3195 USD which will also include express shipping within CONUS. Other countries at cost. Paypal, Zelle, Transferwise or bank wire only. Watch and I are in the US and I can ship worldwide (with some exceptions). Plenty of references available upon request. Thanks!
Adding a movement shot as requested. Very clean and running around 8-10 seconds a day with strong amplitude.
@airansun suggested I should post another pic to highlight how small the issue on the bottom of the dial really is. So, here is another picture.
