It is weighty, but I appreciate the heft.
Your watch needed a little bath that day!! 馃槜

I got one GV few years ago and got bored quickly due to a too slick design, kind of tasteless at the end.

True! It is actually being serviced at the moment (first time since I bought it in 2008--I'm bad).

I love mine. Think it's the perfect watch for wearing shorts in sunny weather.

Several times I was close in buying one. But at the end I chose something else. But I like the design!

I almost nabbed one a few months ago and still wish I had - personally I'm a fan of the design, especially the no-longer made black dial/clear crystal (I know I'M the weird one there) but the blue dial/green crystal is always cool to see - ran into a gent at my local cigar shop the other day wearing an older not-quite-vintage white dial.

Beautiful. I think the Milgauss is amazing. On my list for a while now.

I think its a classic. I love the baton hands, the dial design with the pop of orange, and the balance of polished and brushed surfaces. I much prefer the clear crystal version, as the green muddies the orange to my eye. I definitely miss the date when I wear it, but as we all know, there is no perfect watch!

Love it. I feel it鈥檚 like a souped up datejust with oyster bracelet, which perfectly compliments my sports-heavy collection.

Today is a Milgauss day! To me it's a more fun and colorful OP with some nice heritage. I am totally good with it being a less popular Rolex as that makes it more low key and actually possible to obtain lol.

On my short list for sure. Went into a Rolex Boutique recently looking for one to try on and, of course, they didn't have any in stock. Which is probably a good thing.

have almost bought this watch so many times in the past 4 years. love the design - it's just a tad too thick though for me (top heavy as others have mentioned), and I have a fairly slim wrist so its just is a hurdle I can't get over whenever I try it on.

The original Milgauss was a great failure for Rolex. Few people lived or worked around locations that had high electrical waves, which the "antimagnetic" watch was to be protected from. The Milgauss model number was 1019. Introduced in 1960, they came and went with little fuss. Only 25 or so years later, when nobody could find them, and the vintage watch craze began, did they become popular because of their rarity. All the new big case modern Rolexes are attempts to cash in on the vintage craze by offering a new generation but bigger and heavier than the originals. I'm not a fan of any new big watch...including this. It is like wearing a can of tuna fish on your wrist. If you were to go looking for an original Milgauss, that would be a piece of watch history worth having.

I'd love to have a vintage one as well but they are quite spendy. Maybe someday. Meantime, I'm happy with my "big" 40mm milgauss...
