·Not feeling sorry for Rolex but I don’t think it’s right either for some random party to file a trademark for a term that the public invented (and more likely than not people on a specialized forum I frequent).
Just like the idiot who sought to trademark the term NATO strap in the US and has been harrassing small Ebay sellers (but not big watch brands) using those terms. Wondering whatever happened with that by the way.
