·Hi guys,
I have for sale a full set Rolex Explorer II ref.16570 "corn grain" in great conditions, with a perfect case and an incredible dial with maize patina hour markers.
This is an exquisite example of the rarest of the Explorer II ref.16570: the "corn grain dial" (from the Italian "chicchi di mais"), nicknamed this way because in this specimen the tritium of the hour markers ages taking a yellow cream patina.
U serial number, circa 1997.
The watch was sold in 1999 in Spain by the official Rolex retailer 'Pardo Joyeros' and it comes with the full set, including the original guarantee (Rolex punched papers).
The watch is original in every parts and runs well keeping good time.
CASE:
Even and thick case with original Rolex sticker on caseback.
Serial and reference number are fully visible.
Original 16570 stamped caseback.
BEZEL :
Original Rolex bezel in very good conditions with sharp black engraved numerals.
DIAL/HANDS:
The dial is an original Rolex 16570 tritium Polar dial, with an amazing patina even on all plots and all lettering is clearly visible and correct.
The hands are tritium and (a very rare thing on “corn/cream” 16570) they match almost perfectly to the dial .
Tritium is original and was checked with UV light.
Dial shows no chips around the rehault, no scratches, no "craquelê" or spots.
BRACELET:
The bracelet is the original 78790 with 501b endings in very good conditions, with 12 links.
The clasp is original to the watch and the code (Z) matches the serial number.
MOVEMENT:
Correct 3185 Rolex caliber running well.
The movement was serviced five years ago according to the previous owner.
SET:
The watch comes with the complete full set: original Rolex box (inner/outer) with sticker, the Rolex warranty certificate, the Rolex warranty holder, the Rolex translation booklet, the Rolex calendar, the Rolex booklet.
Asking 12500 Euro, insured shipping included.
Payment method - I will accept Paypal and bank wire.
Plenty of international references.
