Rolex Daytona “Panna” dial

Good evening,

This is my first Rolex related post so take it easy on me! I’ve recently seen a few images of Rolex Daytona with a white dial that has a factory finishing issue leading to the dial turning a cream colour. I love the look! I have done a bit of research and it appears to be a narrow date window of 2000-2002 production before the issue was fixed by Rolex.
It seems to have been given the name Panna by collectors/watch lovers, referring to the cream colour.
Im just putting it out there to see what anyone knows/thinks about these watches.

hi are you thinking of the "panda" style dials?
there is another nickname for aged coloring on daytonas that is named after the Italian collector "patrizzi".

I think you're referring to ref. 116520.

Yes, you can usually find these "cream" (aka panna) dial on P and K serial 116520 (2000-2002).

They are cream (panna in Italian like all Rolex nicknames) colored dials on early 116520 white dial cal 4130 Daytonas seen mostly on on P, K and occasionally Y serial range. Supposed to be rare and collectible similar to the early 16520 porcelain dials
Expect to pay 35-45K+ depending on condition, B&P etc

Always a hard decision to make, I try to buy the best of anything when I’m collecting but sometimes you’ve got to take a hit on quality to get in budget! Where’s the $20k one up for sale I’ll definitely take a look?

Looks great apart from the scratch, but it is reflected in the price to be fair.

It’s a great piece and the price is right. It will always have a unique look even with a minor scratch. Drawback is if you sell it you will always sell at least 50% below market value.
I say buy & enjoy it!
