I am looking for a Rolex Daytona116500 full set. I prefer the white dial but might be open to a black dial if the price is right. I am hoping to pick one up from a fellow collector at a reasonable price. I know it might be a stretch but this community can prove to be quite amazing so I thought it is worth a shot.

    Thanks!!

I think it’s a relatively new watch that’s in high demand so a fellow collector is unlikely to sell it a reasonable price. Plenty of them on the grey market for inflated prices which is probably your only option other than to wait it out with an AD. If you can get on a waiting list it might only be 18 months (but who knows) and you’ll pay a much lower price.

If you can get one in 18 months retail... Put me down for either colour, as I'm not the fussy type ::rimshot::

Thanks all, I am aware of the ridiculous wait times, and the grey market prices. With that said it never hurts to put it out there. This hobby and its collectors have amazed me many times before :)

I am not asking to get one at retail fyi....

I know people people say it will take 50 years but is there anybody who is actually on a current waiting list for a 116500? I've found that most dealers won't put anybody down on a list because presumably the "list" is for their VIP clients and is limited since they know the supply is limited. Just curious to know an actual experience on a waiting list and how long it took from start to finish.

I've been "on the list" for the "new" Daytona at MSRP with Ben Bridge Jewelers in Denver since the day they were announced. But, since I've only bought two Rolex from them in 2014 and 2015 I'm still at the bottom of the list I presume. I later added myself to the list at Hyde Park Jewelers.

They both flat out told me that their customers that spend 100K on jewelry and watches stay at the top of the list. I told them I can only afford to buy the few that I really want to keep, and that I will not buy watches that I won't keep and have to sell just to keep the money flowing, in order to move up on the list.

After a few years I decided I liked the 126710 BLRO more, and picked one up this month. But circumstances have changed such that I had to give up my BLNR to get it. I wish I'd also been able to keep the BLNR, but I won't go into debt over a watch.

Did you buy the 126710 at the AD? The perceived waiting list for that is probably just as long. I guess the issue is not that the waiting list is "x" amount of time, it just depends where you are on the list. Perhaps some smaller market ADs would have a smaller list versus ones in major cities.

Nope, I don't spend enough to move up on their "list".
