Hello,

Rolex datejust was given to me by my grandfather after he passed away.
Can anyone tell me how much the watch is worth in the market and as MRSP?
I have no intention of selling it, but thought it was good to know how much it's valued.
On the side of the head, it says 16233.
Please see the picture attached.

I appreciate the help.

I have my suspicions, but won’t comment until you upload much better picture(s). Particularly shots between the lugs at the 12 and 6 with the bracelet off, and one of the movement once the case back is off.

The engraving of the model number and serial number appear to me to be legitimate. But I am not convinced that the watch left the factory with that dial. In the world of Rolex watches, once they reach the collectibles market, after market parts (dials, bezels, etc.) are often fitted to these watches. Comments from others re: the dial on the subject watch? I suspect an after market dial. If that is an after market dial, the value of this particular watch would be very adversely affected. There are lots of this model currently offered for sale if you do a bit of research. But you need to have an authoritative opinion on the dial. That would require more than a very poor picture of the dial posted on a message board such as this one.

Thank you for your help. Upon doing some research, found out the dial is called houndstooth.
