Up for sale is a linen dial Rolex DJ 1601. As always thanks OF for the space.

REFERENCE: 1601

YEAR: 1971

SERIAL: 2 million

CASE: 36mm steel case. Fair condition. There is some pitting that can be noted between the lugs as shown in pics. The fluted bezel was swapped out for an engine turned bezel sometime in the past.

DIAL: The silver, linen pie pan dial is in excellent condition free of any scratches, blemishes, or patina. I have had discussions with other people regarding the dial and how its marked "T Swiss T" but there is no lume on the dial. I guess the lume could have come off if the dial was cleaned or something. The blank painted hour markers does seem to match the baton hands so my assumption is that its all original and correct but as always I defer to the much more knowledgeable members of this forum. If something is off or misrepresented please let me know and I will amend.

MOVEMENT: Rolex automatic caliber 1570. Was recently serviced but there is no receipt or warranty so take that with a grain of the salt.

BRACELET: Comes on pictured leather strap.

PRICE: $3,199 shipped CONUS. Payment via zelle or bank wire. Willing to ship worldwide or accept additional forms of payment at additional cost.

Don’t see linen pie-pan often and love the engine turned bezel. Not sure that dial ever had lume and T marked non-lume dials do pop up pretty frequently.

Thanks for the input. Wanted to throw that out there as I was unsure myself and didn’t want to misrepresent anything.

Beautiful watch and good job with the photos! This one looks like it should be in a magazine.

I don't know, his feet are a little out of focus in pic #1.
Used to be a member called dablitzer that had his feet in durn-near every shot, half of them bare in his bathroom.

Seriously, that seems a hell of a great watch. $3k Rolexes usually come in parts.
Was the service while in your possession(good!) or word-of-mouth from a previous owner(unsure)? Not sure what the "grain of salt" meant.

You got me thinkin' my Brother, what a great Christmas gift this would be!.

Looks like it has onyx hands and dial, so correct non-lume and a rare configuration.

Great linen dial. This no-lume dial and handset is a known variant, completely original IMO.
