This reference was news to me, so I thought I’d share. Love this 96660 bracelet, which has a very elegant AP/Patek style to it. Also not something I can remember having seen. http://www.uberz.net/watches/rolex-date-ref-1530-near-mint-condition
Back in the day, that was called the “New Style” Oyster. I don”t know whether that was colloquial, or whether that was what Rolex called it.
Right? Very unusual, not something you see often. And with a sharp case and all the lume dots intact. Attractive piece. And again, that band. It's a clear reaction to the trends and styles of the time, but not an overreaction.
Here's some more on the reference from analog/shift https://shop.analogshift.com/products/rolex-reference-1530-oyster-perpetual-date
Thanks @Traveler. Some good info and background here. Sidenote: I've yet to see a watch related video of people talking with their hands that works for me. Seems really difficult to do without being self conscious, it actually drives me a little nuts. Case in point!
I love this 1530. But it's hard to plunk down that kind of cash without knowing how it would feel on the wrist with the integrated bracelet/case I suppose you could buy the oysterquartz reference as a cheaper alternative to test, but you're still locking in a couple thousand at that point.
Interesting. Never seen that before. Did not know that Rolex has produced such bracelets. Definitely a rare piece
Beautiful watch, indeed. The asking price seems a little bit high but that one is a mint specimen. Untouched hands and dial with very nice tritium plots and lightly polished case. The integrated case / bracelet combo is a pleasure to wear and sits beautifully on the wrist. Mine says hi.
