The watch has aged very well for being 51 years old! This is pretty much how it looked after it left the Rolex factory, pretty hard to beat.

I took the photos under harsh fluorescent lighting to highlight everything. Of course in normal lighting it looks much better. I’m just trying to make sure every detail is captured.

Overall Condition: The case and bracelet are great for their age, the crystal has taken a hit at some point at the 6 position which has caused a discoloration. This is only cosmetic and doesn’t hurt water resistance and in fact, the crystal itself appears smooth on the outside, it’s not a Knick or gouge, just an internal deformation. I’ve left it because it adds to the patina, which I like. Crystals are cheap, so at the next service, you can have it changed if it’s not to your liking. The watch was recently pressure tested and passed but it is a 1960s watch and I don’t recommend swimming with it.

Dial: Some spotting on the dial, very light. Some would say “tropical”, I won’t! There are some spots, it’s a fact of life with 50+ year old watches. The hands have some patina to them and the tritium has aged to black, and is intact. A nice touch, it looks great. The hands are the original alpha hands one would expect.

Movement: Of course we find the Rolex caliber 1520 movement which was recently regulated. It still runs a tad fast though but these were never COSC movements and it’s not but maybe 10 sec a day, if that, just full disclosure.

Bracelet: The bracelet is a 1968 coded 7205 EXPANDING rivet bracelet with correct 57 end links. The expanding feature is nice because it makes it wear so well on hot days. If you’ve never seen an expanding rivet bracelet, have a google, they’re very interesting and not cheap to buy as a stand-alone. The bracelet stretch is highlighted in the photos so you can see that it’s not unreasonable but there is some.

    I welcome any questions,

I’m asking $2450 Shipped in the CONUS

I sadly can’t ship outside of the US currently with the holidays fast approaching. Customs in other countries is backed up like a log jam and it would take forever to arrive which always makes me nervous.
