Assuming that is a "C" clasp code, it would correspond to 1978, which is probably too late for a 7836. Perhaps it is a replacement clasp. Are those the only stamps on the clasp?
Here is the clasp code on the 7836 I could put my hands on at the moment. This is what I'm used to seeing.
I have seen these clasps before, but I honestly don't know what to make of it. There was even a thread about one of these on RF. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=693252
I believe it is a fake. I’ll see if I can find an image of a similar year for comparison that I owned.
Here’s mine from an all original Rolex 1675 from very early 70s. Not dated until a couple of years later.
ok very interessting, if it is fake , bought it with a Tudor (not here) and the seller did not say it was fake..
Better images. Now I’m not so sure! I didn’t like the engraving on the back of the clasp. It does look ok. In my opinion, if the seller is trusted, then no issue. Alternatively post on a Rolex forum, where they may be more experts.
I stand by the clasp blade being fake. "registered swiss made" is not correct. The rest may well be authentic. What watch is it purported to be for or from? Buy the seller ftw
I think the blades are fake but if the price is reasonable you can replace that piece only for 250-350. Finding the correct date code is another challenge however
I believe that "Registered Swiss Made" can be correct. See here: https://www.watchprosite.com/rolex/...sé-folded-link-flush-fit-/732.866568.5901553/
You may be correct but the other unknown for me is the the point mentioned along with the T and C stacked on the other end. The picture you link which may be authentic does have a proper clasp code. Anyone else have insight?
