On reflection, the teaser video could have let people seduce this but nobody I’m aware of did

In the teaser not only is the crown on the left (why would the video a watch upside down?), but also the visible font on the bezel is the curvature of the 18, not the 6, proving the watch wasn’t upside down

Almost feel silly for having missed this

I had seen the Watchfinder guys mention the LHD GMT Master possibility.

The Deep Sea Sea-Dweller are also mentioned in the list of New 2022 Models…. But I am unable to see what is new for these models.

Another option I thought was interesting was this “falcon eye” dial on a Yacht Master SS… but since I don’t have a Yacht (and never will), I guess it is a pass for me. 😁

Indeed!

They also caught later the unnatural combination of the smooth bezel with crown guards on a twin-lock crown, something others I’ve watched also missed.

I’ve come to really enjoy those blokes’ videos and banter.

GMT watches mean nothing to me. I like the idea of LHD case per se, but date window on the left side bugs me. Hope they will release submariner LHD soon (just submariner - without any date).

close second?
I have tried it, while this watch has many pros - a case simply is too tall and l2l is too long for my taste.

The green and black look interesting but I'd have to see it in person 😉

So... Rolex's amazing innovation that will have people purchasing 5 unwanted Rolex models to get on a list of people that maybe, one day, will get a call for the opportunity to buy one is...

A left handed watch. Gee, nobody has ever thought of putting the crown on the left before.

Tried this on. Very comfortable in my 7.25 inch wrist. It seemed like a hell of a watch for the price, especially used. I was tempted.

I hear that - short is my attraction these days

Find it interesting that Rolex decided to move the crown AND the date on the same side. That is truly a watch for lefties… while I love the Pélagos option where the crown is away from the back of your hand but you can still see the date peeking out of the sleeve of your shirt/tee/sweater.

Like everything, all tastes / needs are out there… and more options is always a good thing. Definitely an oddity for the crown.

agree 100% - especially In a GMT watch!

there have been many destros that while convenient for left-handlers have instead also or primarily had functional rationales: eg the Ploprof, or Heuer’s Cal 11, or other “tool” watch’s that - I think - very rationally moved the crown away from the wrist’s articulation point for purposes of sport/comfort

But moving the date to the left, and on a GMT (not exactly the “tool” category needing dive/roughhousing functionality) is unabashedly a lefty-focused move that doesn’t even really leave room for the “oh and also this is useful for…” explanation.

put differently, moving that date to left really did cater this watch to only 10% of the population

Interesting stuff

Forget Rolex. All they chase is maximal profit. Left hand crown Pelagos with the red writing and red/black alternate Date in titanium with Titanium band and very good clasp, is the best and cheapest, you can get. Has everything, Rolex does not have. No matter what you are up to, this is the best wear and forget , high grade divers.

The best thing Rolex could do is just to simplify their lineup and stop with the silly anniversary models. Why spend all that money on a new model when a vintage one does the exact same thing, and with more restraint and class. When they increased the size of their models they brought nothing but obesity to the party. I'm looking at a 40 year old white gold Day Date right now...so much more impressive than any of the new overweight stuff being made today...by anyone.
