Hi
For sale is a my nice Rolex Coke Fat Lady 16760, not one I wanted to sell, but I have a chance to buy a grail so sadly this one has to go…
The watch
The 16760 was made between 1983-1988 and only in stainless steel, and was also the first GMT II. The 16760 GMT-II had an extra-thick case, 0.5mm thicker than its predecessor, as well as a thicker bezel & crown guards leading to the nick name "Fat Lady” and, somewhat unfairly I think, the " Sophia Loren". The bezel only came in red/black “ Coke”. I purchased this watch when on holiday last year in Italy, from a reputable jeweller Rolex specialist in Tuscany, who had serviced it.
Condition:
The tritium on the dial and hands has aged to a nice ivory hue that does not glow under intense light, except for one tiny speck on the main marker at 12 - this was a previous repair. Best of all, the dial has aged to a lovely dark chocolate / tropical colour. The hands are a little oxidised but I think look Ok and so I left as-is. The case is in good condition, bevels present and visible, thick lugs, but has a little wear from use. The bezel is the correct original one which has faded a little. The bracelet is in good condition and is the correct full-length 78360 with 501b end links. The serial number is R33xxxx a 1988 production.
It comes with the original inner and outer box, and certificate from the jeweller I bought it from, but no other papers
