Hey all!

Just wondering if this is normally how this should fit. I highly doubt it but the bracelet, endlinks and case style all seem to be correct.

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

You can probably improve it a bit by adjusting the endlinks (and/or the loops that the spring-bars pass through), trying different diameter spring-bars, etc. Look carefully at how it fits together, and you will figure it out.

Killer dial on that 1003! That bracelet is quite loose, I’d send it off to have it tightened. It can be very difficult to get a good endlink tit on these. I have some jewelers tools and chopsticks I use to carefully put them in a better shape, but it is a nerve racking job.

Thanks guys!
I had a feeling this was just from decades of wear.

The bracelet isn't actually loose, but it just doesn't come up to the bezel. I actually already used a stick t9 squeeze down the backside for a tighter fit! Never thought about using a chopstick!

And yes! I've been hunting for a 3-6-9 OP for a while! Finally acquired one!

The bracelet is definitely stretched, as @vibe noted. It's quite clear to see in the first photo. However, it's not cheap to have rivet bracelets restored, so it may not be worth it for a 7205. It's personal preference.

I have a 1003 on the riveted bracelet, and the same end links (different dial though). You can muck around with the protruding bits on the bottom of the end links to make it ‘grip’ the case a bit better by squeezing them in, but it’s always going to jangle (at least in my experience). Incidentally, I have a Seiko Lordmatic on the beads of rice bracelet from the same year, and it’s a far better made thing in my opinion, yet those riveted Guy Freres bracelets are highly coveted, for…Rolex reasons.

I actually ended up having to send the bracelet off to rolliworks because the rivets were popping off. I'm having the overhaul the bracelet and they said they'd adjust the endlinks to the watch as best they could.

But yes. As an owner of many vintage bracelets they do make a lot of jingle jangle noise. At least it's fun around Christmastime 🎅🏻

Why be cryptic, what's a "Rolex reason" in the first place? And sounds like you're not aware, but GF bracelets are "coveted" by many different brands' collectors. Do they all have "Rolex reasons"?

Agreed, many branded GF bracelets are valuable and desirable. And in general, bracelets for more expensive watches are ... more expensive.

I know they’re coveted. The reason isn’t that cryptic. Calm down.

Your cliffhanger just seemed so intriguing: “yet those bracelets are highly coveted, for….Rolex reasons”. Clearly I misunderstood your intent/meaning.
