Damn, seriously that was the best they've ever made, better than any of the original trilogy. If Disney hadn't secured the next generation of Star Wars fans with Episode VII, they certainly have with this one.

    :eek::eek::eek:

We're lucky in Australia as Star Wars and Apple products are the only things we get ahead of every other country rather than two to 12 weeks behind.

Good to know! I´m looking forward to seeing it with my family ( which includes two young Jedi´s in training aged 7 and 9 ) who are huge SW fans. I´ve read mixed reports about whether this new film would be suitable for their age group, what do you think? To give you an idea they were both pretty well scared of Kylo Ren in the last movie even though they look really ´tough´ here ;)

Awesome! The overall premise of this one sounded fantastic from the get-go (takes root in Robert Oppenheimer's post-atom bomb sentiments), and love that it was (supposedly) given a little more creative freedom to be darker / less-Disney than the previous four installments.

Will certainly be seeing it soon

I'd be a bit concerned about kids that young, it's very dark, far more so than both Empire and Revenge of The Sith, somewhat surprising that Disney allowed it to go that far in fact.

Good. They need more sinister plot lines.

Any mention of why things work the way they do with The Force? (Jedi strengthened via reincarnation, who is who as far as family lines, etc.)?

You'll have to watch it to find out, I stand by my promise in the title :)

I'm not going to be like that dick who spoiled Episode VII by holding up a banner with a major plot element in front of the live national TV cameras on Sunday night football (NFL).

Okay, PM me any good spoiler info. ;) I'm not going to be able to catch it until after New Years being in the business I'm in.

Recent pre-showing Disney focus groups showed only one area of the US immune to the effects of the Force.

    That's the only hint you'll get :D

I'm taking the family tomorrow night (that's when it opens here in the US). And then again on Sunday. Life is good.

I enjoy this preview more and the creature looks good.
The fans plays apart in movie success. The toys are on display I belief in some country mall.

Our local newspaper reviewed the new movie yesterday and called it the weakest plot in the series. I don't think there are any spoilers in the review, but if you want to be totally blind as to what happens, don't click below.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/miamih...ent/movies-news-reviews/article120594658.html

I'll probably see it anyway. :)

Here's a question for anyone "in the biz". How to the studios determine release dates for movies outside the US. I was in Israel at this time last year and the Star Wars movie was released there a week ahead of the US.

Looks like same is true this year in Oz.

    Thanks,

Honest question - why is Empire universally considered the best of the original trilogy? I think it's good, and likely an improvement in some ways on A New Hope, but RoJ was the most exciting entry for me. The only criticism I hear consistently is about the ewoks. I loved the ewoks! Who doesn't like ewoks?!
