Very sad news, Doctor George Daniels, the inventer of the Co-Axial escapement has passed away on October 21st. Daniels really did some amazing work, in a world where movements are outsourced and diamond "bling" can be had on anything form a Rolex to a Patek, he was truly old school in his methods and attention to detail, while approaching engineering challenges as only a visionary could. I'd go as far to say he was Steve Jobs' equivalent in the world of horology, and its a shame that we've now lost two great inventors this October.

That's some sad news there. Thanks for posting this as we sometimes focus only on the product but not the people behind the work.
