    Hi everyone,
I'd appreciate people's honest opinions about the size of this Planet Ocean on my wrist. For reasons that I'll explain later, I'm not going to tell you what size it is until later (though some may be able to tell).

    Thanks![IMG]

I actually think it's the 45.5, at least it fits similar on that part of the wrist than mine does. I like it, you have some skin on both sides of the lugs so it's not floating on your arm. I know these beasts sometimes wear big, but before giving up on it try straps. Here is mine on a green calf strap I originally got for one of my panerai. 45.5!! I should say I also have the bracelet and I am trying to like it but my wife keeps undermining me because each time I wear it with the SS bracelet she says it's too much...and she loves my 47mm Panerai radiomir so it's not the size, it's the tank effect. Anyway. looks good on your arm, at least on that angle. Also, bare in mind if you take close wrist shots and then look at them it will loo like a massive tank because of the distortion, so the shot you just posted is perfect.

I think it looks good. The 2500 movement is flatter therefore it would not hurt to try on the 45.5.

It's a 45.5! I have pretty big wrists but was slightly worried I may have bought too big. That a number of you thought it was a 42 suggests I needn't worry.

Ah...my instincts where right! try the bands mate, I'm telling you that will settle it. The bracelet does add a lot of bulk. Looks great. I'm sure flat on the wrist facing up or on the crest of the wrist it may seem at times to swell. but it works well on you.

Yes my friends brother has the 2500 and it's like night and day compared to the 8500.

For those still following this thread: I went into an AD today to try on the 42 MM. Not apples to apples I know, as this is the blue version with a strap, but what are people's opinions about the smaller size on my wrist?[IMG]

I think it looks good too. If that is how you feel wearing both I would get the larger but if I had choice of the old and the new I would choose the new of course

Both are great watches, and if you can pull of a 45.5 that means the 42 will look extremely elegant on you. One rule is 42 looks better on steel, 45.5 better on strap. so that same watch on steel will look just spectacular. Also a "new" 8500 I would take on 42. Bare in mind that until recently 42 was WAAAAAAYYY big. the larger size 40's where impressive when they came out. 38mm was always a gents larger size and 36 is was an ideal size for most. So, your wrist, your choice.

I have a similar size wrist than you and wear both 42 (PO, AT, SMP and Speedy and the 45.5 PO as well as a 47 Panerai. All look good but the 45 and above definitely are less flexible when wearing than the 42's and bellow.

If you only have ONE watch. I would take the 42. If you have many and you don't have any big tool watches then take the 45.5 and enjoy the sheer power of it.

I think it looks PERFECT. I have the 42mm PO 600M and love it. The 45mm is a bit big for me.

I have had a 45 PO and several 46 SOH's, but with a 7 3/4" wrist, I settled on the 42 as my sweet spot. I bought a 69 spdmstr new, which I still have, wore a Rolex DJ 36mm for several years. I now own several 42mm PO's.

I have the 42 with the 8500 and really like it. I thought the 45 was too big myself. image.jpg image.jpg

Sorry, the 42 mm. I found the 45 mm to be clunky and big. Just me maybe......
