Hi,
I was wondering if any of the members can help me out with the "RF" sponsor on a early silver chronograph case.
Cheers Russell.

Hi Bubba,
Slightly different shaped lettering. What do you think?

With the bear and the 0.935 I'm guessing the case was made in Switzerland?

The RF could be a local Assay mark rather than a makers mark... and I can't find anything that matches for the UK... and is later than about 1845

It could be made in Switzerland as it is the case for my Montbrillant/Breitling single pusher chronograph with the pusher at 2.
Just can't find anything on RF as well.
Cheers Russell.

I have a few 1900-1910 Omega ladies silver fob watches that have the 0.935 marking and the bears.

As I understand it, the 0.935 grading was to comply with English "Sterling Silver" specifications, and was specific to watches exported to England.

Some interesting reading here: https://www.vintagewatchstraps.com/blogthreebears.php

I've gone down a silver hallmarks rabbit hole, but failing to find anything Russell,

Sorry chap!

Thanks for your help and information on the .935 silver stamping. I will take a read to the link on David's site which is always full of great information. We will get to the bottom of it at some stage.
Cheers Russell.
