Well are you sure it's not the customs who lost your items by not putting back tape correctly ?

Just wondering were you not fully insured by UPS for the value of the contents.

    Really sorry for this,

Not sure if you’re active in Instagram but if you are I suggest you check @stolenwatches profile, there are instructions to post pictures of your stolen watch and it will repost to raise awareness, long shot but at least you will be reaching to users also outside the forum

    Good luck

Customs in most countries don’t open or close the parcels, it’s up to UPS to do this.
I know in Australia the parcels are opened by a UPS employee and tapped back up by the same person. They even have to pay for the tape nowadays ;)

Is that a picture of the UPS delivery guy bringing you an opened empty envelope? He didn’t think “hmmm there might be a problem here..”

Very sorry for your loss. At the same time, I must admit that I am really surprised that these watches were only packed in an enveloppe!! ::confused2:::thumbsdown:

Is this normal?? I have only ever used boxes and lots of protection to send watches... and this is how they were packed when shipped to me.

Limits on this with UPS unless arranged with a third party and also looks like watches were declared as broken watches sent for spare parts so I am guessing declared value was low.

Who the sends watches in an envelope? Says right on the envelope for documents only. Shipper is to blame.

Sorry for the losses. Must be gutted.

This is like a case study in what not to do by parcel Pro

Poor watches. They never had a chance. Is there a society for the prevention of cruelty to watches?

Three ceramic dials? A non-padded envelope? (Checking to see if this is April 1st)

Looks more like they moved and split the tape.

I would be following the trail of where they went via UPS. Would be surprised if the end up at a dead letter office at UPS somewhere along the line.

I agree, if you bought this on ebay I would file a claim immediately! This is absolutely poor packing resulting in total loss. Someone at customs may have seen it was watches and opened it up, but that's not on you- the package was way too easy to tamper with.

Needs to be done quickly. UPS puts all these items with no identification into a trailer and auctions them.

Do they ever put shippers who pack like this in a trailer and auction THEM?

Looking at the text and number formats used by the OP I wonder whether he was in fact the shipper. If so while I share your pain, I can’t help but raise an eyebrow at the packing. The description of broken watches for spares also looks rather suspect. Perhaps customs were involved...

One thing to keep in mind is the contents made it to the USA. The envelope would not have passed customs if the watches were missing at that point. The UPS origin location will ensure everything is in order to make sure the item will clear customs. No point in forwarding an item that will just get returned.

If they were not broken before the shipment I am sure they are now after going into a paper-thin cardboard envelope ::facepalm1::
