Gentlemen I few months ago I got a Speedmaster Mark 4.5 with a blue soileil dial and since it didn't come with an Omega bracelet (but instead a 70's generic bracelet), I started looking for a better bracelet. Since an original Omega bracelet in good state would cost around 400 bucks (give or take), I decided to get an alternative. The requirements were: a) Stainless steel. b) Similar brush pattern. c) Modern clasp. d) Good price. After searching high and low, I found a bracelet by Strapcode that seemed to fit the bill: https://www.strapcode.com/products/metal-ss-bcl03-b033s Besides the attractive price, it also featured as extras: - solid links. - easy sizing (i.e. screws are used for the sizing links). I've ordered the bracelet from Amazon and received it at home in less than 2 days. Sizing was a breeze (love screws instead of pins!) specially because it also has micro-adjustments. Sizing and mounting it on the watch took a little less than 15 minutes (mostly because I dropped the microadjustments tiny springbar on the ground and couldn't find it....). About the bracelet: pretty comfortable and balanced, its color and brushing pattern is quite similar to the finish in the Mark 4.5 case. No stamped metal plates here, the finish is pretty good given the price and the included springbars are pretty beefy. I known this may sound heretic, but I definitely prefer modern clasps with folding locks than the vintage ones (always got the feeling the vintage clasps will pop open). Overall: pretty good value and a good fit for a vintage timepiece.
I'm wearing this as part of the watch rotation and planning to report back in the future if there is any unexpected surprise. In general, I think it works pretty well with those chunky omegas from the 70's without breaking the bank (allowing to save 400-500 bucks for the next watch fund).
