There is a nice JLC Reverso for sale here on OF:

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/jaeger-lecoultre-reverso-classique.47317/

I think my wife would really enjoy this watch but on a bracelet. Would I be able to source a nice SS bracelet for this? Would it make a nice ladies watch? The nice thing is if she doesn't like it, I would love it :)

    Appreciate your thoughts.

    Tom

I think you already answered your own question.:D

It would make a lovely woman's watch, especially if she would let hubby wear it sometime, too!

I always felt that a reverso is one of the few watches that NEEDS a leather strap ... not a bracelet... but to each its own

i thought the title said "reverso or wife?" to which I was going to reply. Reverso for sure.

I'm just guessing she would want a bracelet. I would give it to her with leather and hope she thought is was perfect.

Reverso for wife, eh? I guess it depends on how attractive your wife is and if she's a good cook. I'm married already and don't own a Reverso so I can't make that trade with you.

Reversos often come with very nice leather deployant** straps. Great for gals.

** Deployment if Dennis is listening ::bleh::

    Hi Tom,
The reverso classique (IMO) really looks best on a strap. If you're keen on a bracelet version, the Duettos do come with bracelets too. Not sure if the bracelets are interchangeable though.

The midsize reversos (26x42) are very well sized for both men and women, so you might want to consider that too if you're after a watch that both of you can wear ;)

Now, if your wife is Giada de Laurentiis, I'd hold out for a better watch. A cutie who can whip up gourmet meals every night is gotta be worth an AP or VC at least.

I have been looking at these watches. Here are some thoughts:

    - leather
    - if it were my wife it would be the smaller sized version (34.2 X 21 mm)
    - the dial can come with a central starbust guilloché pattern that is surrounded by a creamy frame. Just beautiful in person.
    - although more expensive, the duoface or duetta has two dials which can interesting because there are two different designs and can be set at a different time zone.

After buying watches for the wife I would really suggest quartz. Unless she's a WIS she'll never wind it daily. An auto sounds like a nice compromise but it isn't. My wife's auto ladies speedmaster constantly runs down and I have to set the time and date for her.

Also, unless she's a WIS, she won't really appreciate a mechanical over a quartz. At least, not in the way you want her to. And that's ok because you don't appreciate the difference between MAC over Cover Girl in any meaningful way.

That's why I like this particular Reverso because it is quartz. I think she would prefer this for just the reasons you state. If she has to wind and set it every time she wants to wear it, she might grow weary of it. Although I think she would make the sacrifice if I got her the Rolex.

Whoever needs to trade their wife for a watch doesn't really need a new watch... what they need is a new wife.
    Just sayin.

Thanks I was debating getting it and I no longer have to worry about lusting over a quartz. One problem down 98 to go

Congrats to buyer and seller who, btw, is a OF Ranchero Boss and has been a great source of knowledge for me.

    Nice purchase!
The ostrich strap that comes with the watch is used but may still be quite nice.
