Hi all

A long story made short: I am looking to buy a mechanical steel Reverso Classic, medium / Grande Taille size, monoface with small seconds in very good condition

A long story: My watch collecting journey began in 2018 when I took my late father-in-law’s watch in to be serviced as a gift for my wife. One trip to a watchmaker, one look inside a mechanical watch, exploring the history of a watch…and well, I was hooked. This fascination with watches led me to the forums where friends are made, great conversations happen, and we are introduced to all the wrist candy that we can handle. As many of us do, I bought a good number of watches along the way, mostly not knowing what the heck I was doing. Any new acquisitions have ground to a halt, as I've been saving for the one wristwatch that keeps coming to mind over the years - the JLC Reverso.

And here we are today, with me feeling a little giddy about posting this Wanted to Buy for a mechanical steel Reverso Classic, medium / Grande Taille size, monoface with small seconds in very good condition. It’s been a dream a long time in the making.

As I understand it, this size variation started in '92 under the name of Grande Taille, which is now known as the medium size. The current Reverso ref is Q2438522, and specs from JLC are at: https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/ca- en/watches/reverso/reverso-classic/reverso-classic-monoface-small-seconds-stainless-steel-q2438522

I’ve been into the JLC boutique a number of times, and left each time knowing that the medium / Grande Taille’s proportions were ideal for me, so I am focused on that size (L x W): 42.9 x 25.5 mm.

I am located in Vancouver, BC, and would like to patiently wait for one available in Canada but I’m happy to discuss watches from outside of Canada with established members.

I have plenty of references here on the OmegaForums as well as positive reviews on my Etsy site.

I assume that I will win the dubious prize for longest WTB ad, so thank you for your time, and thanks to the mods for this space!

Good luck with your search. That size was introduced around 1992 and the size was called Grand Taille, it was the largest Reverso size up to that time. If you are searching for one that descriptor may help.

Chrono24 has many reversos. I wanted the same size...but I wanted one that combined steel and gold...and they didn't do that for very long. But I love how those two metals go together. I couldn't be happier with mine. Good luck with your hunt. I paid $4700 for mine. And that was with box and papers.
