My first big watch purchase was a 2531.80 from bailey banks and biddle in 1999.
Saved up for 4 years after watching Goldeneye.
I wore the crap out of the watch and sold it in 2013 to fund my SMP Ceramic 300 (which I still have)
I cheated on Omega in 2014 and bought a Rolex 1680... please forgive me...

Then last week, I just happened upon a 2531 on Ebay while browsing for a Rolex bracelet...
Flooded with memories, I placed a quick bid and went to dinner, forgetting about the watch.
Came back to find out I actually won the 2531 !!!

    Now I'm reunited with my 2531.80 !!!
Never will she leave me again...sorry for the crappy phone pictures..

I, likewise, picked up several new watches and put the good old 2531 to rest for a while
Finally plucked it out of the case, replaced the aged bezel (looking brand new now), and it is back in action!
People complain that the bracelet is dated but I think it is one of the more comfortable bracelets on the market
    Welcome back

who are these "Rolex Guys" you speak of?
I simply replaced the Tropic 127 with a Tropic 19 Plexi used on 5512 and 5513.
Gives the 1680 a very clean look (1665) and people do it all the time.
I have the 127 safely tucked away so I can switch back whenever I want.
    Here are some examples:

I prefer the no-cyclops look too but the locals here freak out when non-original things happen....may be a regional thing

Two great watches you have there. Personally I think the cyclops looks like a growth I could do without and because of that I decided in favour of owning the Sub 114060.
