hi guys. I’m having issues with my P.O. I noticed after a few weeks that it was gaining time. Goldsmiths agreed and returned to omega for a repair. Returned to me after 4 weeks. I have wore it for a week and it’s been the same. It gains a lot for time at work. But seems okay when I’m home. Where I’m moving less. Needless to say, I’m returning it again to them. What are my rights?

This easy, quit your job. Other than that I always find it hard to raise hell when you buy something on the net. Have to believe though Goldsmith will take care of you. Watch dealers are a more upstanding group than most is my short experience.

How much time is it gaining? Was it new or used when you got it?

Hi I bought it new. It is now about 3 months old. It runs okay when I’m not at work. But today while I was at work between 7.30-3 it gained 11seconds

If it's magnetized, you're going to see more than 11 seconds.

Probably rests his wrist a certain angle at work often and that angle happens to be where it gains *a little*.

I have a PO 8500 and mine is spot on. Some may say well its only 7-11 seconds but over a year that's over an hour which isn't good for a expensive watch. I'd take it back and as for either a new watch or a full refund.

If goldsmiths aren’t sorting it you could maybe try approaching Omega’s Southampton repair facility direct and ask for a warranty service or regulation. It sounds like it is running out of spec.

+11 sec during activity is too much and unacceptable. Before going back, rest the watch every night in a different position. Both the sides and the back and ‘tummy’. Check the differences. If it’s between -4 and +6 sec then that’s ok and you can say that the watch specificially gains too much time with movement of the wrist. It’s a chronometer and that used to mean something.

If it gains more during resting in various positions, the movement has too be regulated. You get a 4 yr worldwide guarranty, so no problem there.
