Hi all,

Nice to meet you all as a new joiner.

Recently, I inherited a couple of vintage watches from my grandpa who passed away leaving back a great collection. So, more posts of me will be coming soon.

As a sign of appreciation and rememberance to my grandpa's life lessons, but also because I really enjoy wearing them I am restoring the watches step by step (within a bit of tight budgets) planning to have them in great condition for the upcoming years.

In this post after happily sharing a photo of Respirator X lady which I am restoring this period, I would like to ask you about the topic of its gasket.
I took the watch to the watchmaker that my prandpa used to go. He's an old watch enthusiast folk really loving his job.
He said that a new gasket will be needed in order to block humidity harming the mechanism.

Is there an online source where I could find it? EU retailers would be highly appreciated.

Thank you,
TASchrono

Do you have the old gasket? If so, the easiest approach might be to measure it.

Thanks for your response Dan!
Do you mean to measure it and then search online?
Also, do you maybe know if there are gasket designed for this model that I could find online?

Thanks.

Can you show us a picture of the gasket? If you need a specific style, you will probably need the reference number of the watch or the dimensions of the gasket, to search. Alternatively, you may need to adapt another gasket, make something that will fit, or live without. You can't always find expendable parts for obscure old watches.

I will check these details as I'm a newbie in the field.
Will come back in this if more help is needed.

Thanks Dan.
