So the price I agreed to pay is $900.00 delivered. Or 850.00 plus shipping if shipping and insurance would be $50.00.

I now know a few things from everyone here; it’s an OK Watch, not a Frankenwatch, it’s overpriced and the price he’s charging for service is low.

I can find one on eBay for maybe $400.00 ish and get it serviced for maybe $250.00? In ten years or two serviced, it’ll even out.

But I’m still considering walking away but there is a certain amount of reason to this option for me.

I think it is rather the contrary: 14390 are from the begining SC watches with a 285. Check the Omega database:

https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-omega-ck-14390/

Thank you so much! Pepin.
I didn't aware that Omega now provides such comprehensive database of vintage models.
I have been using the vintage Bestfit catalog.
Usually it gives correct information. Especially for early models. But, not for 14390!!
Thanks again.

You are wellcome!
That may be because your catalogue associates two differente references, the 14389 with is a sub second caliber (268 according to the Omega database, but that is the same), and the 14390 with a SC. The parts your page is talking about may be the same for both calibers.

What happens if he's not around for the next 10 years after purchase ( retired, shut down )

This is what $450 unserviced looks like 😉 just to give you a idea.

This is about $1000 unserviced just for a idea for pricing

Not for sale just showing you what's around if you take your time.

Thanks.

So I have 12 posts. I only need another 188 posts to qualify to make a purchase on this forum.....🙁

But I do see I can use my Ebay feedback which is 325 all 100%... Maybe I can reach out to a moderator to get a clearance ahead of time based on that so I do not miss a good deal?

Other than that, I can look at that thread topic showing GOOD Ebay deals. One of which is the following Automatic (I know, not a manual wind but when it comes down to it, I really just want one decent example of a Vintage Omega.https://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Seam...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

Anyway, at this point, I'm struggling because I feel pretty bad reversing my down payment to the seller. He's had it on hold now for two weeks for me. I suppose I'll send him a message to ask for a refund and tell him to keep some money for a re listing fee since it might have been sold by now. Looking at his web site his watches go pretty darn fast!

You can purchase at any time, you just need 200 posts to sell.
