Hi everyone,

I've created this thread so we can effectively and easily eliminate fakes from the market and prevent new fake stuff from coming up, Omega isn't a primary target for fakers, most of them are just starting up, with a little bit of effort, I believe we can deter them

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please post anything with an Omega logo that Omega didn't produce
Even if it's transparently stated as aftermarket, it doesn't give them the right to use copyrighted Omega logo

Please only post links to be reported, let's discuss things on separate threads and not here

Please only like posts if you've reported them

This way we can know how many people reported a listing

Please give instructions on how / where to report

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Example, on eBay, the report button is on listings:

But on AliExpress you have to use a separate link, https://report.aliexpress.com/health/report.htm?type=knowledge - and paste the listing manually:

Please report this: https://aliexpress.com/item/1005003264133558.html

Using this link: https://report.aliexpress.com/health/report.htm?type=knowledge

This is one of the first kits that imitate Omega's using all aftermarket parts, if we can get them removed, it might prevent other kits from being produced

[Optionally] If you have the time, also screenshot a photo from reviews that show the Omega logo and attach that photo in JPG format to the report

I understand and appreciate the intent here, but keep in mind that not everyone objects to non-OEM (call them generic, fake, or what you will)) items. I have reproduction stainless steel “Omega” buckles on a number of my vintage watches. They look fine, wear well and are WAY less expensive than the OEM equivalent. Fake watch or movement parts, well, that’s a very different matter.

This one has MG markings, so no debate here it's a scam, people who bid on this will bid on thinking it's a genuine Omega buckle

I see where you're coming from, I don't feel too bad about non-marked "horseshoe" buckles

But fakers innovate and improve, so by being complicit you're contributing to a future where it'll be impossible for non-experts to differentiate a fake buckle from a genuine one, maybe it's inevitable, the day will come, but our efforts could be the difference between that day coming next year or in 15 years

They already got very close on one model, so even if you use them, still report them, it will directly increase the value of our collections, and more importantly, we'll be able to enjoy care free collecting longer

No reason for us to not be proactive, almost every day there's a post about someone getting burned on eBay, we've already prevented someone from getting burned

Edit: Also on eBay there are 2-3 sellers who list genuine buckles but send fake ones, I believe we can root them out too, the tell is their listings and history, their listings are repetitive

Indeed I missed it, no one mentioned it on the other thread and I kinda assumed it'd be stickied if it existed, seems more important than the caseback opener 😁
