This watch that I recently bought looks good (the camera lens shows a lot more ugly artifacts). However, the faded "VII" (see image) bothers me. What is the best way to fix it? Thanks, Mary
If you are talking about the Roman Numerals, you can fill in with Black Enamel Paint from a paint marker. It might be a little tricky with the wide numerals, but I think it will work if you are careful. Available, Hobby and Craft stores. Credit: The ΩF InvestiGator.
Steve, thanks for the quick response. I just ordered the exact item as you illustrated. I hope I won't mess it up!
The vintage Hamilton, Elgin, and Waltham guys have been doing that on their engraved bezels when the enamel wears off and it works great.
Here's a post from another forum that talks about this technique and mentions the enamel marker: http://www.watchtalkforums.info/forums/thread52429.html gatorcpa
