One technique I've heard is to use a toothpick to scrape off the residual paint within the recessed numerical markers. Then fully cover the numbers with black enamel using a fine brush. Remove the excess paint using a toothpick. I've heard others mention that a sharpie or black nail polish can be used instead. I haven't tried any of this but hope some of you who have tried repainting their steel (or gold) bezel markers can shed some light with what technique works best. Also any concern with affecting the value of the bezel with proper repainting?

I assume the excess paint comes off easily using a toothpick once it dries?

Now the other question: Does repainting the engraved numerals on the bezel affect the watch’s value (assuming it’s done well)?
