Trying to fit my son with my old Speedy automatic reduced. He’s been wearing it on a short leather strap, but now we tried the original bracelet. I removed all links that are removable and it’s in the last hole on the clasp. Still ever so slightly too long. He has about a 14.5cm wrist.
Can more links be removed without damage or can anyone recommend a decent president style or flat link bracelet that can be shortened and would fit that watch.

Maybe that's an indication that you should wait until your son is a little older before he starts wear a not inexpensive watch.

well, he’s almost 18 and I don’t think will be growing a lot more. He’s been wearing it for a while on a leather strap. He takes good care of it.

At risk of jumping in to an interaction that didn't involve me and that might escalate things, but with all sincerity intended, how about we lead with questions before rushing to judgements?

Have you thought about a Forstner "Komfit". The smaller version will go down to 14.5cm and will give the watch that astronaut feel. Comes in straight or horned lugs.
Plenty of pictures on OF to look at but here's one from Google
