    Dear OF,

In my quest for a mk 1 5513, I stumbled upon a popular Hong Kong vintage shop. I emailed them and they sent me some pictures of this mk 1.

    Hi,

Please find attached photo as a comparison. The one on the left is early Meter First dial therefore will be light up by UV. Where as the right one is the maxi mk1 and it doesn't light up.

We believe in our experience more than depend on a UV light. We don't rely on it because is not always correct as we have seen many relume has passed the UV. I do have a customer might come later with a UV, will take photos for you then.

Is this true? I always had the impression that relumes will not have any light under a uv light.

    Thanks OF

Personally, I'd hold out for a nicer 5513 and not limit myself to a specific dial.

And I do think it’s worth holding out for a maxi mk1. The lumes are very definitely bigger. (Although I’m biased ;):))
