That's because I outbid you at 724,000. Unfortunately someone else outbid me too and now it's out of my budget.

The dealer almost certainly meant to price it without the extra "72". Nice watch, but still too high, IMO.

I would think even 724K old Italian Lira would be too high. ;)

That's a shame. Looks like a nice piece.

I think the price is correct. If you look closely you'll see that's actually a "Newman" Conquest.

In Sterling this figure is nearly the quarters of a million pounds. New Chronium Pounds? What is that?

I think you have not understood the irony on my words - unlees they are not GBP but an unknown currency, it makes no sense to me.

I suppose if you have to explain a joke, it is not a good one.

    That's a watch that would sell somewhere around $3,000 / €2690 / £1950, give or take $600 / €540 / £390 for condition and if it comes with a warranty and box/papers.

Just about the price I would set on something my wife wanted me to sell.
Could get away with not lying when I said: "Oh honey its been listed forever, but unfortunately no interest....."

If I had listed my precious Timex Marlin at 725,000 Euros.... she may have suspected I was up to something. She's not THAT blond

    then again......

    Then I'll take 100 Conquests. After all, in Zimbabwe, I'm a multi-trillionaire.

I really do have one of these that I received as a gag gift a few years ago.

Perhaps there is an engraving on the back that says "To Steve McQueen From Your Pals James Dean and Elvis?"
