Reference numbers

Good morning all,

On Chrono24 there is a nice Omega on sale, with ref. number BK14757. It should be a cal.600, a nice piece. Apart from this, I was searching for a list of reference number list on the Internet, but I couldn't find anything, at least searching for this particular ref. number.
I have a similar watch, that I've posted here a couple of times, and that very kindly some you helped me to have more info about that. I know that it could be a difficult thing to do, but I'm surprised about the fact that Omega doesn't have any info about their production, especially regarding these models, with no distinctive names like Seamaster o DeVille or any other name we can read on our watches in other models.

Thanks for reading this and for your attention.

The BK is the Omega reference for a gold bezel/steel watch.

Need to see much more to give more informative information.

Thanks for your fast reply. But my question is more general. The question is: where is possibile (if exists one) to find a reference, a list for these numbers?

There are many lists on the internet. Unfortunately I don't keep links to them I just print them and put them in a paper folder (I'm a Luddite).

A good starting point is the Omega Vintage Database.

When searching for a case reference like yours, ignore the first two letters and just use the numbers. You can also search by caliber, model etc etc.

For vintage watches, there's no "go to list", you just have to put on your Sherlock Holmes deerstalker and go to work.

Thanks @JimInOz, I'll go deeper.

Here is a listing of Omega Case metal codes:

http://www.old-omegas.com/ommetcod.html

Please note that this list is not complete. I see that “KO” is omitted, which I believe is 14K yellow gold capped with a steel caseback.

Very few Omegas have the metal code inside the caseback. The reason for this is simple. The same caseback reference could be used for several different metal codes. For example, solid steel, yellow gold-cap and pink-gold cap versions would all use the identical caseback.

Hope this helps,
