Sure hard to tell anything from the angles, but the phrase appears properly centered. Omega centers phrases, while a lot of refinishes center words.
Here is my ref. 2622-2 (cal. 265) from 1950, for comparison...I love these manual winds with the 30mm movements.
You are on to something with your doubts. I think is a redial. A very bad redial. Not worthy to a serious collector like you. I'm willing to take it off your hands and away from the other nice watches in your collection. Sell it to me.
I think it's just fine , OMEGA and SWISS MADE look pretty much identical to mine from that era (maybe a couple of years before).
