I bought this watch about a month ago and have been wearing it ever since, it keeps great time. It looks to be all original apart from the crown and second hand.

STS can provide both the second hand and crown but only on top of a £450 service plus the parts (they have just recently put their prices up by 10%).

I have just had a 1970 Seamaster back from them which with some other work came to £650. I have asked a couple of times if they can just tell me the spec of the original hand and crown for this one, but they are not interested.

I think the crown is signed on this one but not sure what the sizes are and the second hand probably looks like this but can't be sure. Would it be black, blued or silver?

Is there a particular watch maker in the UK who is experienced with these older watches and would be able to match the crown and second hand (I assume that you can't buy original items now). Or, is it best for me to try and source them myself and then hand them over when I send it for a service? I just can't spend £500 on this one at an AD.

Does anyone know where I can find the specs / part numbers of the original crown and second hand? Thanks in advance.

I think it should have a blue steel seconds hand. My 30T2 SC RG with a serial just under yours does. And I am also guessing the crown should be About the same diameter but thinner.

Excellent, thanks. Is your crown signed Omega or plain?

Thanks, on my 1947 watch in my Avitar, the crown is plain, but my similar watches, from about 1949 / 50 onwards, all seem to have the logo
