I've come across loads of examples of this case, which seems to be one of the standard dive watch cases from the 1960s. An incomplete list includes the Jenny Caribbean, the Le Jour Triton, the Ollech Wajs Precision Diver, the Orfina diver, the Oriosa diver, and the Tressa Sea Tempest, but there are many, many more (including the Limit I just acquired, pix attached). The standard example has the spearfisher emblem on the back, and a screw-down crown, and the most common movement is a Valjoux 7733. I also come across ones without the engraved spear-fisher that seem to be housed in the exact same case (e.g. the Avia Marino).
Does anyone have any more detail on who manufactured this case and why it is so ubiquitous?

Reviving this thread as I just acquired a variation on this theme including the unmarked 7733 and “yachting” dial and bezel. Similar also to the Nivada and Croton’s that many here collect. Case is a little different with a starfish back but concept is similar:

I’m sure these were made by one maker (or a handful) that made them on spec. Very curious about who was making these.
