Yes, love this case style together with the day-date variant. In fact I think the date only version is actually harder to locate than the day-date variant at least in stainless steel guise.
I've recently got a watch just like this one, but with yellow gold hands and hours marker...could be "real" gold?
Unfortunately, on this style, I don't think so. Probably gold plated with painted insert. Here's mine with a gold-capped case: On the solid 18K gold versions, everything is gold, even the dial. gatorcpa
