Hello OFers,

For sale is something that Smiths fans may appreciate - a jewelled 1/5th second stop watch made in Great Britain! Currently working, thoigh service history is unknown. Asking $40USD including shipping from Australia. Payment preferred via PayPal family and friends.

According to the box, the model number of the stopwatch is SWM105. It is 50mm wide, 70mm from the bottom to the top of the crown, and 73mm from the bottom to the top of the lanyard ring. The red caseback sticker is intact, and the chrome case has some light marks.

The stopwatch works, and resetting requires a big push of the top crown. It is currently in working condition. There is one scratch on the crystal. The dial has a thirty minute counter at the top along with the text "SMITHS 1/5th Jewelled" below, and proudly states "GREAT BRITAIN" at the bottom. The dial appears to be in good clean condition. The inner of the caseback is marked "Made in Great Britain Smiths Industries" while the movement is marked "Smith's Industries One Jewel Unadjusted Great Britain."

The box has some wear and tear around the corners and tape marks. It is interesting that the box states on the back that the reset and trip mechanisms had patents. The instruction/guarantee paper is in good condition and is starting to age/brown just a little, and the plastic tray insert is intact. The instructions/guarantee are printed in English, French, German and Swedish.

I have positive references here both as a buyer and seller, as well as 100% positive seller feedback on eBay under the user name Boyzwillbeboyz. Please let me know if you have any questions or interest via PM!

Thanks for those movement photos!

I’m fascinated with inexpensive movements. We don’t get to see them enough here.
