kkt, that is a colloquial term for the mixed "Roman-Arabic" dials that Rolex used to do in the '30s-40s, or rather the notorious redials that began to flourish in the '80s-90s. It is thought that they were introduced by a particular west coast dial refinisher (e.g. Kirk Rich). The originals were never called that by Rolex (who also produced the original Panerai watches with Roman-Arabic dials, as well as used them in their Oyster Perpetual (bubbleback) and manual wind series).
