Up for sale from my private collection is this nice Longines Conquest. at a glance Conquest ref. 9022 - Serial no. 1166xxx dates back to 1960 - Cal. 290, very clean - Original dial, with "swirled" sunburst finish yellow gold hour markers and yellow gold hands - Yellow gold capped case with very sharp facets (35 mm without crown, one more than most Connies ;-) - Signed original Longines crown, it's the rare scalloped crown that was only produced for a short period of time - Gold medallion on caseback "Fish in Kelp" Longines Seal of Quality - Original Longines buckle (gold plated) the dial The original dial of this Conquest is in excellent condition without signs of age, I dare to say mint. Very nice "sunburst effect" hard to capture on the pictures. Original lume on dial and hands. All scratches are on the plexi the case The yellow gold capped case is in very good condition with sharp lugs without any dings or dents. Unpolished all edges and chamfers still present. Only superficial scratches. The caseback shows some slight scratching around two notches. The "fish in kelp" still holds most of it's enamel the movement Very clean Longines in-house caliber ref 290 which barely sows any tool or service marks. The watch winds and sets very smooth and the movement is running strong. There is no known service history the strap The Longines comes on a very special new sea wolf strap with original vintage Longines buckle. the price I am asking 950 Euro REDUCED to 859 EUR (or the equivalent in USD) to me for this excellent 1960s Conquest. Interestingly, I have a scalloped crown I bought that my watchmaker says doesn’t fit on my LCPR 9032-3. Anyone with a clue as to why that would be? Here’s my watch:
Thanks, yeah, I guess that's the most logical answer. I'm not a watchmaker, but I suppose maybe the stem AND the crown are wrong on my 9032... I hope the stem ain't too hard to find, but first, I'd need to determine which stem to look for!
