I bought this little beauty today at a gun store in Kansas. I felt the dial had been redone but as always the guy selling it says otherwise. How does this affect value if it is a redial? When I saw what he was asking I stopped talking and paid the man. It is in the 18million serial # range. So without further ado!

Ps. It is keeping good time! As to be expected.

One look,100% redial fonts all wrong. Can you get your money back? Does anyone on the forum know the reference for the watch? So he can look up a picture of an original dial one, print the picture, show the dealer and get his money back.

If no one knows, the photo of the caseback in the OP should help.

The OP read like the price was so low he was happy even assuming a redial...

Value impacted greatly but sounds like you got it at a decent price.

As stated by others, this watch was redialed which will significantly impact the value. To get a better idea of what these are worth, you might want to check auction sites such as eBAY and see what similar watches sell for.

Here is one quite similar to yours...

Yes it's redial. In person, I think it's such a badly rewritten on it. It's pretty clear on overweight line.

Do you honestly think that redial looks great? Or do you mean the rest of the watch apart from the dial?

A redial looks good if it's done right. I know if it's all original it's even better. the whole watch looks good. Good job man

I wonder if OP tried to get his money back he has a right to that. If it is not possible (NO REASON WHY IT CANT BE REFUNDED) Dom could get the watch redialled again, this time it could be half passable. To be honest it does not look to good but it can be fixed. Press for a refund, but not end of the world if you can't.

Opinions may vary, but IMO the dial is poorly refinished. Unless you have an original dial, this is a parts watch. My 2c

Not being funny but we have a thread for a dial like this. OP needs refund (HE IS ENTITLED TO ONE) at worst case if not possible he should get it redialled so at least people he knows that see it wont think bad things and he can enjoy the watch. Be honest Saturn 1981 would you put that on your wrist NO, F@@K NO. Cruel to be kind the OP can get a good result from this if he wants to chase it up. I come in peace and speak the truth for the benefit of the OP.

Well below average refinish on OPs dial, pretty horrible actually.

Dominic Warren please get a refund at the absolute worst case get it repainted but that is a dire straights option. Go for the refund. Do a bit of homework google the model print out the picture and the guy who sold it to you has no leg to stand on. You have consumer rights and don't kid yourself, it is a fixable situation.
