Hi guys, this dial format is my favourite on constellations, so I'm thinking of pulling the trigger. What are your thoughts on it?
There was someone really rude (or unskilled ) with the caseback removal tool. Not nice but would probably not be a showstopper because you do not see it when you wear it. To my standard criteria it looks fine, dial and hands (in particular length) seems fine. Cannot see whether its an original glass though. Any scratches in the glass can be easily polished. And its gorgeous that it comes with the original bracelet. Lugs do not seem to be overpolished but still have sharp edges. All in all a nice pie pan IMO. If its a good price, I would go for it. Cheers, Thomas
Look at an identical model which has been sold here on OF: https://omegaforums.net/threads/fs-omega-constellation-pie-pan-stainless-steel.17099/
If the same person who opened the caseback worked on the movement I would be very concerned! Apart from the caseback the lugs and bezel look nice and sharp, dial looks good. As @turbo_muc says with as crystal polish it will come up nice.
Looking again do the lug bevels seem quite large as if they have been re-chamfered? Maybe just me but they don't look quite right. EDIT: Just looked at one of mine (attached) that's quite sharp and think they could be ok.
Yes, thats right. There are other indices and it is also lumed. I would not worry, there have been several slightly different dial setups. I personally prefer the onyx inserts. Looks really special. what is the price asked for your Constellation?
Teaching moment for me on this. When I look at the OP's dial, the "O"s are narrow and creates a gap between O and M in CHRONOMETER. The link to on the one here on OF has wide "O"s and this gap doesn't exist. Would this just be the difference between two different vendors making the dial for this model?
