Is there any way to fix the spots/scratches on the dial without doing to whole thing new and ruining the watch for good?
Yes, this is the second one. I haven't bought tho I think the seller is willing to go 200-300€. Gonna sleep on it and educate myself first here at least hah.
There are many similar Omega for sale, and that gives the advantage to you, the prospective buyer. Yes, you should educate yourself, but an important part of the education is learning the value of patience, and developing good search abilities.
Three things: First, I think that the crystal would improve if polished with Polywatch. I suspect/hope that the marks by the sub-dial are on the crystal rather than the face of the watch. Second, in my experience photos show marks etc that you wouldn’t notice if the watch was on your wrist. The case, hands and dial look okay but, as with the crystal, the case would benefit from a Cape Cod hand polish.
If you look at the photo taken on the angle, the 2 vertical scratches at 9 o'clock on the subdial look to be above the subdial hand, suggesting those are on the crystal. I otherwise agree with Tony C that most of the spots and other marks are on the dial.
That is not how it looks to me. And the scratches are in exactly the same location in the two photos.
100% wrong. They are on the dial, and it is obvious in the photos, not least of which because the sub-dial hand is partially obscuring them in the very angle that you are misreading. If any skeptic would care to make a wager of >500€, I'll buy it, collect my winnings, and give it away.
The dial is damaged/scratched/destroyed in my opinion, and the hands are missing all lume. Seek further for a better piece. Enhanced picture...
