"Yes" re-done means re-dialled watch. It's not the original dial.

I understand Alex, but this one seems to be fake, not re-done.
    Compare it with this one:

I understand what you mean, but irrespective of the dial being fake, surely it's not "real" if it's been stripped and repainted anyway? I f the seller says 'redone' then I suppose he's being honest, I would want a second opinon, I suppose it could be a fake dial..

I don´t think the seller is honest at all; it´s not the same an original dial being re-painted than a counterfeit dial.
Anyway, we wouldn´t buy any of them. ;)

The seller does say that the dial has been re-finished, so no deception there. Notice that the hands are wrong, yet again. That's twice in one day ::confused2::

Yes I also notice the hands.
But the point is that saying a dial has been refinished is legal, but a counterfeit dial is not. Isn´t it?

I thought that there were some that had just painted black onyx effect?

Here's one with genuine onyx (sorry, couldn't resist !)

Also, this one has the exception that it doesn't pass the MOY test, proving that its not always a foolproof method!

It might not be hanging around in the collection for long :( I still wait for a nice picture of your black dial with rose gold accents. A lovely addition! ;)

Yes. But we should note that a counterfeit anything implies an intention to deceive. If this dial was counterfeit (and I am not at all sure that it is) the seller simply might not know that. In other areas of vintage collecting (like cars, or guitars) we use the terms repro or pattern parts a lot. This is perfectly legitimate and is not pejorative, and clearly signals whether something (like strap buckle, for example) is original or a more recent copy. I wish we were using the term repro openly and up front in the watch world, too.

I´m not saying the seller´s intention is to deceive. He maybe doesn´t know it is a copy/not legal/copyright violation.
But you´re right that first thing to do, should be inform the seller.
Also notice that my poor english vocabulary, make me use always the same words, and sometimes I´m not sure of the meaning of them.
I´m agree with using the term repro if it sounds less offensive,
but I´m not agree with watch repro parts.
