·Hi,
I am new to this (as you will be able to tell...) but I have long-admired my father-in-law's vintage Seamaster and thought I would take the plunge myself.
I really like the look of this one, but I am concerned that it may be a redial (or maybe it obviously is?). The serial number indicates it was manufactured in 1954.
Firstly, it seems remarkably clean and untarnished (but maybe it has just been kept very well?). Secondly, and more importantly, the Seamaster logo looks odd to me, especially the S and the final r.
If any experts have a couple of minutes to help me work out whether this is a redial or not, I'd be very grateful. I suppose that if I like it, it shouldn't bother me, but I'd like to know I'm wearing something authentic, if that doesn't sound too ridiculous!
Thanks very much!
