Red speck under crystal of AT

I just purchased my first Omega, an Aqua Terra from 2013, and I love it! However, I've noticed there is a red coloured speck underneath the crystal near the 12 marker. I understand dust can end on the dial sometimes but I'm confused how this could get there or what it could be?

Is it likely to be as simple as a watchmaker opening it up and wiping it offf

Hard to tell where the dust is from your pic, but try to get the edge of a thin piece of paper like a Post It note then use it to eliminate the possibility that the dust is actually located between the crystal and bezel.

I don't know where red debris would come from since there is no red on the dial... except from a deteriorating red Omega box of that era, which would mean it's on the outside of the watch.

Definitely some better pictures would help, how certain are you that this is under the crystal? Is it possible that something tough to remove is stuck to the crystal?

Thanks for the replies. Hard to capture but it looks to be on the edge of the crystal but it's definitely underneath. I've tried a piece of paper but it doesn't go deep enough! Any ideas?

On closer inspection, it appears to be the exact same colour of the red paint used on the movement and for the red dot on the back of the case. I suspect a fleck of it landed on the case/crystal at some point during the assembly! Seems to be the only logical reason as it couldn't have gotten inside anywhere else!

Looks like it is under the crystal. The crystal would have to be removed to get rid of that...needs a watchmaker to resolve.

yeah it's definitely under the crystal, what are the odds of it being red paint used in the factory..?

With all of this close inspection, I would have thought you'd have noticed the other imperfections by now. ::stirthepot::
