Stainless Lord Elgin Aquamaster from the mid 60’s. This is very similar to the Benrus Sea Lord (of which I have owned 3) and is a spectacular 35mm with short lugs so wears pretty large for it’s size. Dal and lume pips are in great shape, applied indices with a nice sloped rehaut which gives it a step-dial look, This is a nice watch at asking, but has make offer as well.

Love the back too

Sextant caseback is super cool.
Yeah, this is a great watch

Please note, the pips are on the rehaut and if you look closely, they aren’t perfectly aligned. That’s because when you mount the crystal, you have to be super careful about the creep you get from the lift when you release it. It’s easy to remedy but you need to be really anal retentive

Hope this comes across ok!
But to me I would not notice this watch. Not being knowledgeable I have no context to see it in. Or no reference points: to say it’s like this or that, compared to this version or that version. To me some watches look beautiful - but others I cannot see it but appreciate the history/stories of the more knowledgeable people on this thread.

That’s the beauty of this hobby, so much diversity and what I may find beautiful, you may find ugly- and that’s what it’s all about- in the eye of the beholder.

This is the Benrus Sealord I sold here a few weeks ago. I’ve owed a few of these as they are so sleek and elegant and I keep giving them to friends who covet them. They are beautifully made with stainless case with an eta movement (I assume the Elgin is probably an AS movement). I find them lovely, you may find them pedestrian- no “problem” with that whatsoever.

I regretted not going after this Baylor, and posted as much on this thread. @Emeister actually bought it and it’s presently en route to him.

As luck would have it! I spotted this Marvin, which I hope is en route to me, having won the eBay bidding war 😀.

Anyway, I thought OF might like to play 'Spot the difference' with the seller’s photos. 😉

Didn’t we have a thread about men with bracelets not long ago? 🙄

The fact that both pictures were taken at 9:12 and the crown is sitting against the bracelet at the same orientation is what caught my eye. Is 9:12 the new 10:10 for watch photos? 👎

The official eBay watch photography standards are 10:10 for Chronos and 9:12 for three handers. I believe this was in the 2020 revision notification, did you not get the email?!? 😉

....and now back to regularly scheduled programming....
