I counter with another Elgin: Mystery dial rose gold filled Elgin. Dial looks to have been cleaned at one point and lost a little lettering but the mystery dial effect is in full force. USA movement so this is an early one. Says runs slow and needs a crystal, make offer based on that. https://www.ebay.com/itm/143678047925Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

And lastly something different and cheaper. This bumper is working and has a great price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/124291197709Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Very cool and entertaining thread and props to you for showing your numerous picks. You have a good eye!
Thank you for the kind words. Hunting for bargains is fun. Plus it's even better because I learn along the way!
Yes it is and your posts of online picks are especially entertaining to me as I'm primarily a boots on the grounds hunter.
Ahhhh nice. I definitely want to get my boots on the ground someday. Difficult with current state of affairs. Also tough as I live in California...

I seriously think someone could make a viable business out of buying all these finds and relisting with a crystal polish and glossy photos.
And a proper cleaning and oiling, then properly adjusted. With documentation on when and by whom the work was done and if any parts were replaced. Prices would necessarily reflect the sizeable investments. The major attraction of most of these watches is the retro/futuristic styling of some, like the two black and gold Elgins. If a maker of those high frequency quartz movements were to commission limited runs of replica cases and dials, etc, and offer them at a decent price, they'd sell out in hours. The Timex reissues and Hamilton Ventura reissue prove that.
And then they wouldn’t be a bargain anymore. Part of the fun of watch treasure hunting is knowing you have the skills or resources to get these things back up to snuff and paying lunch money to get them.
Another Bulova. Lume looks really decent as does the dial. No pictures of the back of the case though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/392890074652Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Lovely watch. Looks like it's been rarely worn. Without knowledge even looks refurbished!! No international postage at the moment.
In Italy for our European brothers and sisters: interesting watch with pivoting lugs and fixed bars. Plated case is worn to brass fairly evenly, lovely dial- not sure if the gilded outer track has been redone or not but it looks well applied. Seller claims keeping time. Even though I am not a fan of the wabi-sabi, this is lovely for very little money. https://www.ebay.com/itm/154020484746Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

Not a bumper, just a manual winder. But comes with an HC Expandro style bracelet which is one of the few stretchy bracelets I like. They work on fixed lugged too as they snap over the spring bar
